He earned several degrees, including a Doctorate of Theology, from Slidell Baptist Seminary before beginning his pastoral ministry. While studying at the Historic Selma University, Dr. Mickles’ made a commitment that changed the trajectory of his life and ministry. At Selma, he was formally introduced to expository preaching, a method of preaching that explains and applies the Bible to everyday life, and he has committed himself to the disciplined of studying the Scripture and faithfully presenting the Gospel. He considers it his life’s work to explain the Bible and to exhort believers to develop their personal relationships with God based upon what the Bible teaches.
